SANTA’S POST BOXES

Rheged and Virgin Trains are again taking some of the pressure off Santa Claus this year and helping him sort some of the thousands of letters he receives by collecting them altogether.

  • VIRGIN TRAIN STATION - SAT 26 NOV - MON 19 DEC

From Saturday 26th November, children are invited to take their letters for Santa up to the Penrith Virgin train station and post them in a special post box which has recently been delivered to the station.

All the letters will be collected by Santa himself on SATURDAY 17TH DECEMBER, when he will catch the train at 13:03 to a secret location before he boards his sleigh back to the North Pole. Don’t miss out!

Upon his return, his elves will ensure all the letters are processed so everyone gets their presents in time for Christmas Day.

  • RHEGED CENTRE - SUN 27 NOV - WED 21 DEC

From Sunday 27th November, if you go along to Rheged, near Penrith, Santa has installed a special post box where children are invited to take their letters for delivery.

Rheged will make sure your letter goes directly to Santa Claus himself - you may even receive a reply...

TOWN CHRISTMAS JUMPER DAY

FRIDAY 23rd DECEMBER

Let’s add a bit of festive fun again for shoppers and workers this year by wearing your Christmas Jumper on Christmas Eve’s – Eve,
Friday 23rd December.

We are encouraging businesses, retailers and local groups to pull on a pullover and make Penrith better with a sweater while also having
some fundraising

This year all money raised will go to local charity Eden Mencap in support of their ‘Help Us Buy Our Home’ campaign. Eden Mencap is our local charity supporting children and adults with learning disabilities in and around the Eden Valley. They do lots to make Penrith sparkle throughout the year and so spread a little Christmas cheer and give a little back this year. Eden Mencap have moved their support services three times in the last eight years. All they want to do is buy their building, call it home, and create a safe and inspiring place to play and learn.

A Christmas gift to benefit everyone in Penrith and the surrounding area.
